My name is Tamara (pronounced like camera) Sautter (rhymes with daughter). My pronouns are she/her. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a focus in perinatal mental health (PMH-C).
I grew up in Cary, North Carolina and currently live in Apex with my family. I graduated with top honors from North Carolina State University with both a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Master of Social Work. I briefly studied developmental psychology in NC State’s doctoral program. I've worked in various settings including crisis center, psychiatric hospital, therapeutic treatment facility, schools, community-based work, and private practice (group and now solo). I am on a never-ending journey of learning and growing myself. I have continued education in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), perinatal & maternal mental health, and social justice. I am a strong advocate for marginalized populations and am often involved in various advocacy groups and programs. I love to write (check out my BLOG tab!) and enjoy word games, puzzles, swimming, and spending time with my partner, kids, family, and friends.
My focus is to help my clients heal, learn, grow, and live their best lives. I provide a safe space, listen, and customize a treatment plan to help you achieve your goals using evidence based practices in learning how to cope with and process emotions and find the balance of Wise Mind.

My values are aligned with the National Association of Social Work. My core values are that of inclusion, integrity, service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, and competence. Above all else, I love people and strive to do all things with love and kindness. I value equity – including diversity of identity, ability, bodies, gender identities, creed, culture, sexual orientation, socioeconomic backgrounds, and beliefs.
I myself am a Hispanic, bisexual, female business owner with a chronic illness in the form of lupus - an autoimmune disease. I am committed to creating a safe, welcoming space for everyone. I am dedicated to dismantling white supremacy, transphobia, homophobia, ableism, fascism, and any other inequity and/or discrimination realities we may have once learned to perpetuate. I acknowledge the necessity of anti-oppression and anti-racism work and am devoted to creating a community that is inclusive of all people. I am continuously unlearning and relearning, engaging in both professional and personal accountability through ongoing discovery, consultation, and education.
I may not be for you, we aren’t made to be “for everyone.” I truly believe everyone can find a therapist that fits their needs to help process, heal, grow, and succeed. If that is me, I’m here for you! If not, I continue to respect you and am willing to guide and help you in hopes you find the therapist that is appropriate for your journey.
We all deserve that.
